Christian Counseling

I have discovered through out this journey of counseling, many of my clients unintentionally discard the natural yet important resource of one’s faith. It is often highlighted as we begin to build rapport and explore the life journey of those I’m partnering with in the counseling session. To their surprise by tapping into the unique beliefs and faith client’s uncover a plethora of solutions that were there all along. It’s amazing to witness “The Light” that shines bright on their challenges and the transition of hope begins.

Adolescents

In doing community work, my travels have afforded the opportunity to work with many young people at a very exciting time in their lives; Adolescence. Navigating through puberty, peer pressure, low self-esteem and parental conflict can be overwhelming. It’s not always easy to share with one’s parents, peers or other significant others those often troubling and conflicted feelings. As a neutral party, a parent of four young adult sons and once a teenager myself, I offer young clients the room to express themselves. They are are given the space to share the most intimate details of their lives without feeling judged or compromised.

Family/Marital

We can look around in our world today and identify heartache, pain, confusion, disappointment and a need of direction when addressing our most sensitive relationships; families, marital and couples. With the rise of social media, unmet expectations and generational changes we are often left unsure as to how cope with these difficulties. I offer a fresh perspective, keeping an open mind and promoting respect of the individual’s ideas yet encouraging unity if at all possible. Sometimes it helps to have a neutral party in addressing those challenges who is able to provide a listening ear and to support clients through the pain and bring understanding to all.
